About This Game "All of the stuff that I feel makes a great car combat sequence that Mad Max does so well ... this is that, in a strategy game. I heartily recommend" - Tom Chick, Quarter to Three"If Speed Racer (the cartoon) had a baby with Death Race (the Roger Corman versions) and it ended up in a Mad Max future, I think you’d end up with this game... Personally, I think this game has earned a permanent spot on my hard drive" - Adam Harrison, Bell of Lost Souls"Turns white line fever into something thinky" - Jody Macgregor, PC GamerAmerica. 2025. And once you're done with a season that's it. Start a new season with a new character and so on..If the devs would add the option to create your own driver, build your own car, create your own gang, maybe add missions where you could take over (and had to hold) different strategic points, fuel etc and so on this game would be awesome but unfortunately it delivers none of that. It's beeing praised for it's strategic elements but the only strategy is where to have your car placed, when to use boost and when to brake and what enemy you should DPS. Oh and ofc, how to outfit your car.The game looks beautiful and runs smooth but in it's current state it's just shallow and repetative.I wanted this to be so much more than it was.. Hybrid real time\/turn based cars mayhem on a highway?Where were you all this time! This bring back memories of old car warfare games.. I'll admit, when I first heard of this game I was dubious. Another Mad Max \/ Flatout \/ Gas Guzzlers mash-up.Been a Dark Future fan for 30+ years, always waiting for someone to do a video game version 'right'.Well... I have to say... Auroch Digital finally did... and it's AWESOME!!!!!Granted the 'Time Dilation' mechanic takes some adjusting too, and the Data Heist missions are more tedious than necessary.Overall... This is what I've been waiting 30+ years for.If you're looking for high speed twitch-reflex racing, go away. This is not a Driving game. What it is ... is challenging, frustrating, and hilarious in ways you won't admit to in public.Even when you die horribly, you can get a 1\/2 dozen epic screen-shots of it.2020\/10 would barrel roll off a bridge again ;-). Very cool. If you've ever played Car Wars, or Darkwind perhaps, its similar, but better. Pauseable, real time chaos. The graphics are awesome and the game play and physics feel real. The game is set up so that you start a series of missions playing with one character from various backgrounds. There's some strategy and action elements. It does have a arcade type feel to it. I'd have like to seen more single character\/car development, with a more open world type of feel and salvage possibilities after combats, but the current system works very well. The game maybe will undergo some further development, and if it's open to mods then it's going to be epic cool when it's finished. Well done, and thanks for making this. Fans of this genre are happy.. I guess it's fine? Okay, it's an agreeable game, but it's not an exciting game.So the scene is Games Workshop doing a corporate hellhole road wars type scenario. You know all the tropes, and it paints them by numbers, so (so far) you won't have any huge plot twists. The combat is essentially turn-based. Move your car around, line up shots, knock out enemies. Try to dodge around and use enemy cars as barriers to soak up fire that would have otherwise hit you. Get cash, get bigger guns and toughen your car, repeat until gas is too expensive or you bit off more than you can chew and you died.So it's fine. There's normally something visceral and immediate about cars, and turning it into a turn-based mechanic files that edge off. That might be good for you, and I'm not judging (publically). I just actually want to drive the car myself, that's how I roll. Other people might comment on how repetitive the gameplay is, and it is. The different weapons you get don't really much change how you fight, frankly, and the highways have all been very smooth four-lane affairs with gentle curves. So, in the end, yeah, I'll play some more, even though it's a bit thin.. 2 hours played including all the first scenario.Like many GW PC adaptations, although the setting and ambience is spot on, the gameplay is repetitive, with very limited vehicle setups. Absent are aspect of the boardgame such as different vehicle types and plenty of options for weapon mounting locations. Equipment via the shop is scarce, I suppose that's trying to fit the post-apocalyptic setting, but one of the things I was looking forward to was designing my vehicle from brakes, tyres and armour types and minutiae of weapon selection, balancing weight and engine with perofrmance. I get little of interest to buy apart from items to make armour or weapons a little better.Roads seem to be always 4 lanes, no way to turn around (not that there's much reason to), no hint of the handling risks or planning your drive from the original. I like that retro font, but the graphics overall are disappointing.Sadly it plays like an 80s joystick arcade game, not a 2019 new development. 6\/10 at best, get it on sale for an evening's play. I'll play more, but after an hour or so it gets dull, fast.Update - also crashed just as I was picking a mission.Update after a couple more hours, some improvements in payouts and equipment available, but no change to gameplay apart from occasional mutators on missions.Further update - after a couple more hours into a run, it says my save is out of date and I have to restart. Great. 3\/10.. So i'm calling you all Cyberpunk and post-apocalyptic 80's.1. Very Decent graphics for a small indie game (I mean the environment and the art are really worth seeing)2. kind of unique and fun gameplay3. Really funny (you get a lot of lore between missions)4. Enough content for a 20$ gamei just want more of this and i never played the board game once. I just love car with guns fighting to death at 200 MPH in a devastated environment.. Fun sort of turn based post-apocalyptic Mad Max like game. Game is in real time, but you can slow down time dramatically in order to give commands. You can customize your vehicles weapons, color, perks, and armor distribution. Also the game is less free form driving and more giving commands on which lane to drive in and how fast to go. Definitely gets me nostalgic over the cheesy 80's sci fi movies, and for the price it's pretty good on replay value and looks. The music is okay, just like one or two tracks. Wish there was some more variety there with a but more emphasis on the retro\/Synth wave style of music. If you were a fan of the game Convoy you will certainly enjoy this. Lot of fun moments skirting passed the last check point on a blockade run mission seeing a horde of vehicles gunning for you as some of their driver buddies are flipping in the air as flaming wrecks.
